How we make money
Right now, we don't. No ads, no sponsors, no deals with anybody. When that changes, here are the rules it'll change under. They're published first so you can hold us to them.
What money will never buy
- Whether a place is on the list at all
- Whether it's marked as recommended
- What the notes say, or what we tell you to order
- Where it sits in any list, filter or search
- Its cuisine, its tags, how it's filed
- A vouch. Not now, not ever
What a restaurant will be able to pay for
- A menu and a photo gallery
- Promotions and events
- Booking and ordering links
- An analytics dashboard
- A reply from the owner, clearly labelled as one
Fixing our mistakes is free
If a restaurant tells us the address is wrong, the hours changed, or they've moved, we fix it and it costs nothing. Charging a business to correct our own error would be a shakedown, not a product.
No paid vouches, no free-meal vouches
A vouch bought with money, a discount, a free meal or anything else is fraud, and it costs the restaurant its listing rather than earning it one. There's no score here to inflate, which is the point. The best defence against gaming is having nothing worth gaming.
